Description of Seachem 116006606 Seagel 250Ml

BLEND: SeaGel is a blend of MatrixCarbon and PhosGuard and is optimized specifically for aquaria where organic color body and acid removal is required without the introduction of phosphate. DUAL COMPONENTS: MatrixCarbon is an ultra capacity carbon for the removal of organic and color impurities. PhosGuard is a powerful remover of phosphate, silicate, toxic metals, and acids. ENHANCE: Both components are bead shaped for optimum water flow characteristics and penetration. The components enhance each other and are ideal for reef and marine use. USE: SeaGel is ideal for reef and plant aquaria, but it may also be used in freshwater that is not phosphate buffered. DIRECTIONS: Use 250 mL for each 150–225 L (40–60 US gallons). For best results, SeaGel should be placed so as to maximize the flow of water through it. Use in a filter bag such as Seachem’s Zip Bag. Rinse in freshwater before use.

Use in aquarium water purification reactor

This is real. I use in reactor and get great results. My only issue is that it doesn't last more than 3 weeks, not 3 or 4 months as stated on the container.

Pros
  • Trial period for one year
Cons
  • You could choose newer model

Blockages in reactors

I use many Seachem products but this one doesn't work for me. I have a seawater tank and if you use it in a reactor with or without a bag or sponge it clogs up quickly. The combination is a great idea, but when you combine these two products together, it doesn't filter well.

Pros
  • Ease of use
Cons
  • Doubtful

False marketing not worth a hype of its own

Clogs more easily than regular activated charcoal. And if it's because he does his job better than others, then that's nonsense too. I have cleaner water with a foam filter than this one. As for phosphate, my test kits say it doesn't do anything either. With weekly water changes, the results are better and faster.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Outdoor

5 STARS! for aquarium water purification

After several months fighting large algae in a freshwater aquarium, I am VERY glad that I found this product! All aquarium care products and plant care products are made by Seachem, and with good reason! Seachem products work. My plants were covered in algae and after every water change the algae covered the glass again after 3 days, it was just awful. It's been 2 weeks since I put this product in my filter and I have NO more algae! I'm just amazed. My pool looks great. 5 Stars!

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Updates
