Great price, works!

Good anchor, good price. Everything is straight and aligned and appears to be of good quality at this price point. I've had a hard time finding one that fits my anchor box snugly and the dimensions given are correct, it fits like a glove. Works well to anchor as well, holds my 24ft boat with 5ft 5/16" chain with no issues.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Clarity

Works well with some modifications

I had to cut a round bar across the base of the anchor to fit my boat's hold which was specifically designed for this type of anchor. There didn't seem to be any reason why it had to be so long, so I trimmed it to fit. They sent it in a box with two small airbags (useless), looks like someone at Revain wasn't particularly motivated that day. It was sticking out of the box, but not in a way that you would damage it, it was dangerous for the delivery person.

it weighs 13 pounds

Although labeled as an 8 pound anchor, it actually weighs over 13 pounds. We use chain anchors to temporarily anchor racing buoys on 60ft to 120ft yachts and 5 pounds makes hauling in significantly more difficult. We will not order these again. We also ordered 4lbs thinking the error was permanent but it actually weighs 4lbs and is really too small. The other low quality comments are also true, but the weight issue was a big issue and we probably won't be using them again after our first…

Works on my 17ft sailboat

Purchased to complement a rough mooring line I made for a 17 foot sailboat on a small lake. The weights I originally used [two cement blocks] didn't hold the boat up when the wind picked up. Used a Seachoice anchor and it changed the world. Experts recommend something like a 5:1 line ratio [5 feet of line to 1 foot of water). The depth was about 5 feet so I used 25 feet of fishing line to attach it to the boat. The anchor seems to stick into the ground well and hold tight. So far there are no…

Tall Anchor in Sport

We ordered this anchor before our boat arrived and unfortunately it was too big to fit in our storage hull. If it had worked, we would have kept it. That's a really good anchor. It folds up for easy storage (in most places). We have researched anchors and they say the leg anchor is the best. It is believed that this is really good for the sandy soil. The weight corresponded to the length of our boat. When we bought this came a trio suggestion to order chain and rope. That made the task easier…

Cheap plating, sloppy welds

I was looking for a brand of anchor that offered better value for money than the really horrible examples you see at West Marine. This one promised but didn't deliver. Return for partial credit. The welding along the legs to the bed was of poor quality, with blisters and small cracks along the weld line. The coating was applied unevenly, or perhaps the base metal was dirty or unclean, preventing the coating from "curing" in certain areas. Great spot for early rust. I could have paid more for…

Galvanized Steel Anchor NOT READY. FOR IMMEDIATE USE.

BEAUTIFUL ANCHOR. FOR MY 6 FOOT RUBBER BOAT. NO CHAIN. WITHOUT TOP O-RINGS. FOR CHAIN. IF YOU HAVE A REAL BOAT. THIS IS NOT READY. FOR IMMEDIATE USE. BECAUSE: NO UPPER RING, TYING YOUR ROPE. DIRECTLY TO ANCHOR. WILL DEFINITELY BREAK THE ROPE. YOU CAN LOSE. YOUR ANCHOR. AND YOUR BOAT. I would take something heavier. THEN 25 pounds. FOR REAL BOAT 16FT+. IN TIDAL WATER. OR WIND. WHETHER YOUR ROPE. > PAUSE AT LEAST COMPLETELY. TOP RING. WELDED. BECAUSE YOU SHOULD PAY FOR ADDITIONAL PARTS. AND…

Just what I needed

I have this much larger anchor. I bought it a few years ago because it was cheap and it was all I could find. That's too big an anchor for our 22 foot pig. Picked it up a few weeks ago. That's the size for our boat and it only weighs 8 pounds. The Lake Express ferry throws huge waves as it enters the channel from Lake Michigan. Use this anchor as usual with lots of rope and chain. We watched people chase their boats because their anchors wouldn't hold. Ours held out despite using the same size…

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
