works as expected - Internal hard drives

Very good hard drive. I bought to put NZXT H200i in my suitcase. It's a thrill-free hard drive. He does what he has to do with no problems. The build quality feels pretty good. I ran Crystal Disk Mark on it to measure speed. This hard drive is a bit slow with a sequential read/write speed of around 125 MB/s. This is not a breach of the terms of the contract. Overall I'd say it's a great buy for what it is and what you're paying for.

  • Free for educational purposes

  • Almost everything is fine

I FINALLY got the ITEM I wanted.

The hard drive is thinner than the one I had 500GB 3 years ago. It fits perfectly in my CD tray on my laptop. The speed is sufficient for media files and backup storage. Not sure about the game speed as it is 5400rpm. therefore I give 3 stars. Note: Revain really needs to work on their search engine on their website, I kept putting a 2.5" hard drive in and it came with a 3.5" hard drive so the first one ordered was wrong although I mean mine Search limited to 2.5 inch drives, so be careful when

Don't buy Seagate hard drive

I checked this hard drive with the Seatools diagnostic software before installing it in my laptop. It failed two out of four hard drive tests. I've tested it three times and it failed every time. I sent it back to Revain and exchanged it for another hard drive. The second hard drive also failed the hard drive tests. Seatools software has a "Fix All" command that can be used to repair a hard drive. I've tried and failed too. I will send this hard drive back and ask for my money back. If you want

Economy Update

When Dell refused to put a 2TB hard drive on my new laptop, I ordered one from Revain. After installing Acronis True Image, I used it to clone an existing hard drive to it with a handy USB hard drive enclosure. I then replaced the existing hard drive in my Dell with this one. Booting with this new hard drive was seamless, while doubling the factory storage capacity for my computer. I have since installed additional software to use my new computer and am still happy with the performance of this…

An SMR drive that is not suitable as an external drive

Unfortunately, this unreliable SMR technology is used by hard drive manufacturers to lower the cost of their drives without informing consumers. There are many news articles on this. I was backing up 1.5TB of data on this drive for 6 months and suddenly the write speed jumped to 0.1MB making file transfers take forever. Not only that, but the reading speed was so slow! I thought the drive had failed and I worried that all my data was gone. After a stressful day, I found out that it was actually

Just Perfect: Internal Hard Drives

Good. I was skeptical to buy this $75 2TB for my skinny PS4 because the price is too good to be true. I didn't even swap the hard drives, but installed them step by step with the help of a YouTube video. It took me 15 minutes to finish. Plus a "FULL FIRMWARE" download on the PlayStation website. My PlayStation Plus games are now taking a few hours to load and save data. In the end I was surprised when my PS4 went from 500GB to 2TB. ! The Seagate 2TB was formatted to 1.77TB. I'm not going to…

SMR technology is cheap junk

Given that hard drive manufacturers don't report SMR drives, it's becoming increasingly obvious why they haven't been more transparent about the technology. That's because SMR, or Shingled Magnetic Recording, sucks. It is buggy, slow and causes lots of read/write errors as Windows keeps checking/repairing the disk. I only expect this behavior from an old and worn hard drive, not a new one out of the box. Do yourself a favor and do not buy this drive or any of the latest SMR drives currently…
