Don't trust your floating boat with this product

Put it in my boat's hold and it worked for about 2 months. was at my boat yesterday and luckily it doesn't leak. When I got there the pump motor was running for no reason and it wasn't even pumping water because the impeller was broken. Not only did it run for no reason, not even with the float raised, but since it ran for what I believe days, my battery didn't even have enough charge to start the engine. I would not recommend this pump to anyone using it on a boat. He will drown!

Pros
  • Wow
Cons
  • Socket required

Claimed 800gph but.

Listed capacity is 800 gph but that is at 0 lift and 0 thrust (you won't know this until you read the fine print that came with the unit). mmm Why else would you need a bilge pump other than to remove gray water from the bilge - while that might mean 0 stroke, it usually means at least 3ft head. And typically (when properly installed) that means at least 1.5 to 2 feet (min) above the outlet through the hull. Can easily be 4 to 5 feet head. I think it's very misleading to claim 800 gph - using 0

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Negative present

My boat saved! - Boating

My boat was in the water for over a week before I realized it was taking on water. I bought it on a whim about a week before the boat was fitted. I already had a manual one that worked really well, but I wanted to try the automatic one. I noticed he was kicking a lot more than I thought he was. After a few days of searching the cargo area for leaks, I finally found a spot where the external drive attaches to the rear. I had to use a mirror to find it because my engine bay is so small. But this…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Almost never
