Seattle Sports FireLid LED: Illuminate your Nalgene & CamelBak Wide Mouth Bottles! Review

Like many reviewers, I found the lid seal failed immediately. It's not a major issue, but it's annoying that such a good article has a clear flaw.

Amazing light, it's so bright. Love that I can have this on my bottle and have water and light at the same time. Everyone who sees him wants him. It's good for the price.

I recommend purchasing a water gate mouthpiece with it. Make sure you pour some water around the inside of the lid to keep the clear rubber seal in place. You should also avoid losing the pad when cleaning :(

Looks great but is falling apart. Maybe it's meant that way so you can remove the cap for the light and leave the bottle sealed? But he is not in any of the photos. Even the inner ring keeps falling out and I'll probably glue the cap together. Worn only 1 day.

Needs revision. The handle mount broke when I tried to put it on a water bottle and the seal around the inside of the cap leaks when the bottle is held at an angle greater than 45 degrees. The light is good and at least the USB port is outside.

Our Nalgene clear plastic bottles seal well without using the included silicone gasket. The light has two levels, which isn't as good as the old light cover we replaced (it had a stepless dimming function). The solar panel and USB port seem less durable than a basic flashlight, so this cover has even more to prove.

This is amazing! No leaks and my 48 ounce lantern turns into a great flashlight! It's a handy device that takes up virtually no space since your water bottle needs a cap anyway. I'm going hiking this weekend 15-17.20 and will report back on how the trail is going. So excited to use it. Updated 05/16/21. This thing is so cool and still works. It was more practical than I imagined!

Overall this is a really good product. It's durable, waterproof, and offers a decent amount of light when used on a water bottle. It works better on opaque than fully transparent water bottles. Unfortunately, the main disadvantage is that the rubber seal, which is designed to prevent the lid from leaking, does not stay in place and can fall out at the most inopportune moment. This is my second purchase of this item (the seal from the first one got lost somewhere in the woods).

I saw it on a hike recently, I liked the idea. It fell apart on the trip but was easily put back together. I decided to take a chance as my original lid broke anyway. I like the light, especially great on my glow in the dark Nalgen as it also retains some light. But I found some quality issues. 1. O-ring not seated.
