Liked the adjustability and the manufacturing quality of the brass cylinder and stainless ball. DID NOT like the fact the metal for the latch was thinner and the Chinese designer decided to shave an 1/8th off the standard dimensions of such a device as normally would be found (or milled into a bat wing door set) in America. I had two doors that had this type of closure, both had failed and thus the doors obviously wouldn't stay closed. Bought these to replace the failed ones and found them to be a perfect replacement with an added feature, they can be adjusted to get the right "tension" in the ball to hold the doors closed better. I found these to be outstanding replacements and thus would highly recommend!

Too large and doesn’t match listing. Bought these and waited for handyman. He finally arrived today and said they were way too big for top of doors. Found out after return window. Now stuck with these items.

These were perfect replacements for the 30 year old hardware in the house we just bought and are renovating. But the catch plate paint scratches off so easily that it's missing paint before we could even test if they would hold the doors. That was a disappointment seeing as I'm spend $100k on renovation work and the smallest thing to replace in the house looks bad. I ordered a few extra so I'll try another plate from another set and see if it's any better. May have to re-paint them myself.

These are working great and were relatively easy to install. The only complaint I have is that they are a little difficult to adjust after getting them installed. Not sure how they'd make it easier.Overall, they get the job done.

My closet door has swung open because of a faulty ball catch for years. I didn’t even know that phrase, but now after searching for closet door latch, and dropping the ball catch into the existing hole, it works like a charm. Satisfying repair.

Beautiful brass, incl sharp and right sized screws. Heavy, solid, metal quality. Ball and spring move smoothly and easily. The flat-head adjustment plug on the cylinder bottom is metal, not plastic, with a wide and deep slot for easy turning. I highly recommend this product. All pros, no cons.

About 2/3rds the thickness of the hardware it was replacing. It will do the job until I can find the proper replacement hardware. Also no screws were included, despite the description.

These are not made of super heavy duty metal. However, they do the job just great and easy to install and adjust. They are a good product for where they are used (usually top of the door where you don't see them). Good value for the money.Be careful not to bend the metal plate that the ball canister screws into. Installed easily on the wood of my rudder and its housing. Keeps things lined up nicely under normal pressure and clicks back in place without a fight after the rudder is kicked loose.

These are the closest things to the ones the builder installed when they built the house 17 years ago. The old ones are worn and the balls fall out frequently; I've been searching for replacement mechanisms (ball, spring, & cap) for over a year. These are close enough to get the job done.

Funny, I didn't think I needed to review a simple spring latch, but compared to the ones they replaced, itwas a quantum leap in quality of function. They fit into the same cutout, but the ball can easily be raised orloward, and yes, the ball pressure can be adjusted too, from the bottom screw. This is better than other ball door catch. The design prevents the ball from falling in side the door. I have 3 or 4 balls inside one door over last 15 years.

Sounds silly but I find myself twisting the doorknob before I open the door which does nothing. The product is easy to install and once adjusted [easy to adjust] works nice. Worth the money.

I've used these on other doors as well and they work great. The best feature is that these are easily adjusted. During spring it starts to warm up in the South and wood expands. The prior latches were installed by the builder and couldn't be adjusted. They kept breaking as we had to pull hard to open the closet doors. These just screw up and down. In their defense, the cylinder diameter was a bit smaller than my hole preexisting in my doors, so to get them centered was a bit iffy.
