DO NOT BUY - Gear

I am absolutely devastated. We were about to install this thing and when we put one of the screws in it must have gotten too close to the glass and exploded and shattered our new sliding glass door. I have no words now. It had no real instructions, how was I supposed to know that was going to happen?! Now the $20 item I bought to keep my little one indoors poses a serious threat to her and will cost me hundreds if not thousands of dollars after repair costs. I'm just devastated.

Fantastic lock, very strong and works great

For practical and aesthetic reasons I placed the lock on top of the sliding glass door. Drilled a 5/16 inch hole on the top bar of the bar. I used a metal plate I found in the $3.98 OOK Ring Hangers and Frame Backwalls Kit (Part #59242) at Home Depot and it worked perfectly! Press unlock button works very well. I was worried that it would be a bit difficult to push the end of the white cylinder to block it with my finger, but it's actually very easy. I got my 14 year old daughter to try this…

If you're not skilled READ THIS

So you'll be working around glass to begin with, which means you have to be VERY VERY CAREFUL! Make sure you're using the right tools! You should probably familiarize yourself with how your drill works before attempting anything like this. Make sure you DO NOT use the hammer feature, if available. Also, make sure to work slowly and DO NOT apply too much pressure! Make sure you have the right type and size of drill bit (I found the 9/64 cobalt bit worked best for me) and let the drill and bit do

TL; DR Rating: Works Great, Very Durable, Less than 3 inches Tawny Gap in second position. We didn't have any screws so I bought my own. (See the pictures in case this has happened to you too.)
