🎤 Sennheiser E835 Vocal Microphone - Dynamic Cardioid Model Review

Big fan of this microphone compared to the Shure SM58. I've been using the SM58 everywhere for years, but this mic picks up my vocals brighter and clearer. Perfect for my baritone/tenor. If you like SM58 I would suggest you try it. You will not be disappointed.

I used to use sm58, sm58 beta. I didn't like cm58 because it sounds a bit fuzzy to me. I liked the sm58 beta, but it's expensive. I don't think the e835 has as much warmth as the sm58 or sm58 beta, but it definitely has more definition. I preferred it to the sm58 beta because it was cheaper. But I changed my mind after using it. Now I would prefer it to the sm58 beta even if they were the same price.

As a Sennheiser fan, the mic meets my expectations for vocals. The FX button designed for some TC Helicon pedals is a definite PLUS. It works great with my Pedal TC Helicon Voicelive Touch 2. Depending on which pedal you're using, you can set it up to perform a number of different functions. I have multiple mics. I have worked with many others. I have worked as a professional engineer and currently lead the worship team and the theater's technical department. This is my standard for a vocal mic. It has a clean, crisp tone, great response and excellent noise cancellation, and is forgiving yet transparent. Any day I would choose it over Shure 58. If you want to upgrade, go for Sennheiser 845 or even 865, but don't be fooled by the marketing of old Shure 58s. I use Shure products…

compared to the xm8500 it is much better, no buzzing and does not distort the sound when talking near amateur radio i know it is 5 times more expensive but worth it I run it on FM radio via Protools EQ Gate and Limiter with Pureformer Transducer and Mbox mini, but on HF radio right on the radio with little EQ settings in the menu and a little boost sounds great.
