I use it every day. However, when I use large eggs or large eggs, the liquid sloshes out of the bowl. I have to hold it in the middle with one hand and hold the egg with the other, which is not easy. I would take a larger size if available.

I recently replaced my almost 40 year old plastic egg separator with this one. I doubted I'd like it, but it's amazing! I probably split a dozen eggs the first few days I've had it, and it's worked great every time. I highly recommend it.

I use @ 40-50 egg whites a week so I went for the easier route. I thought you would just crack the eggs and boom they separate but no. The easiest way I've found is to use cold eggs (I usually have room temperature), break up and drain the egg whites, pour the rest into a spoon and beat in a circular motion. All of this worked pretty well. Jot is super fast but useful.

If you don't want to wait five minutes for each egg white to fall, this device is useless. I tried three or four eggs, all of which just lay there while gravity did its thing. but yes. For an angel cake, it would take half an hour to separate the yolks!

1) It just doesn't work. As you can see in the video, put an egg in it and it will NOT separate. So save yourself the hassle and get another product. 2) Although the metal is quite thick, the cuts and they didn't bother to smooth it out so the chances of scratching or cutting yourself while cleaning are VERY high.

It is not always possible to remove the entire white part. It keeps some in touch. Sometimes I shake it more and I can get it in about 30 seconds. Other times the yolk breaks and I run to the sink to throw it out (I don't like the yolk). It has the perfect look, weight and grip on the edge of the pan. Dishwasher safe (I put it on top). Overall 4/5 stars. Not a bad buy at all. Used it 6-7 times a month.

Good simple egg separator. "Real cooks," I'm told, separate eggs by cracking them open with one hand on the fingers of the other hand, running the egg white through your fingers and dropping the yolk into something else. All of this is great when you can crack eggs open with one hand and don't mind getting the egg with the other. That's where this gadget comes in handy the next time you need egg whites for your corner cake or bubbly gin or egg yolks for your hollandaise or béarnaise sauces…
