Works great, driver included!

Very nice product. It supports full-duplex and half-duplex communication and a ground connection. The packaging is really nice, with a sturdy box, inner sleeve and even a mini disc with drivers on board. The device uses an FTDI chip (I haven't looked at the board but it uses FTDI drivers) which is generally good quality. Automatically negotiates the communication method so it only works when there is a connection. Definitely recommended. It's nice when your debugging hardware doesn't have toโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model

Adapter does not fit

While I appreciate the fact that they include a socket adapter, I don't appreciate that it doesn't fit. It is not as pictured and comes with hex screws already installed. While it's awkward to tighten, it's not really a problem, it's the fact that they're too close to the board behind them to turn over. reconfiguration.

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

This is an interface cable

Haven't opened it yet. But I ordered that. Ability to connect to Carrier's high-tech VFR (Variable Refrigerant Flow) air conditioning system. I noticed that the device I'm working on also has a USB Type-C port, so I'm not sure I'll be using it any time soon. But it works on modbus systems and I know I have some customers with such systems. You just have to find the carrier software!

Pros
  • So far everything is like
Cons
  • High price

Works great with RS422 and RS485 and uses FTDI chip

I have bought 3 of these units and will be buying more as the need arises. It uses an FTDI chip, so the driver is available as a standard download for Windows 10. There is an indicator light to show when there is transmit and receive activity. The kit also includes an adapter with screw terminals. All around a great device.

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Some bugs

Works great for BACnet + Yabe

Drivers are installed directly from FTDI site using Windows 7 virtual communication port with Yabe to fix BACnet/MSTP (RS485) issues. Non-standard baud rates are supported (e.g. non-RS232), e.g. B. 76 800. A nice touch is the terminal block exit. Note. This is not advertised as an RS232 adapter and is not an RS232 adapter. Reviewers who complained that it didn't work with consumer electronics bought the wrong product.

Pros
  • Excellent Design
Cons
  • Easy Maintainability

It serves its purpose

I am designing a device that requires a 4-wire full-duplex RS-422 interface. I've done this before and in the past I've used a vendor specific RS-422 card plugged into the ISA slots on the motherboard for testing purposes. Since modern computers don't have ISA slots anymore, I needed something else to test to convert USB to RS-422. Using multiple adapters was necessary due to the odd pinout of the 9 pin connector (the boards I used 20 years ago have the same 9 pin connector but all signalsโ€ฆ

Handy little adapter

This worked great for my needs, I've been using it on Win10 for a while to control multiple Oriental Motor drives over MODBUS in a multidrop configuration. For the final install, I switched to a DTECH RS-232 to RS-485 adapter since the control interface only had an RS-232 connector. I'm now using a Huanyang VFD USB adapter with RS-485, which also works fine. I didn't like how the activity lights were blurry between the status lights' little windows, so I opened it up and taped a black tube toโ€ฆ

  • Computer cable adapter

  • No automatic

Works with Garmin 19x HVS with long cable at 38400

Works! It took me a while to figure it out, but one day it was more or less obvious. It's helpful to look at the FTDI reference design for the 422 converter, and as mentioned earlier (and a line in the user guide), 120 ohm terminators are recommended at the ends of long, high-speed cables. When I needed to connect to a Garmin 19x at the end of a 30m cable in my case, they weren't needed. The "trick" that took me ages was that I first hooked up the Garmin TX to DTech's TX lines - it didn't work.
