A piece of junk! suitable for TV antennas

scrap. I bought this to replace my $20 Revain patch antenna (which was mounted in a window) on my boat. I had high hopes that this would expand my channel list or at least improve my reception and reduce interference. After using the antenna for several months (with and without the supplied amplifier) I can say with certainty that this article is scrap! My old $20 Revain patch antenna picked up more channels and had significantly less bugs. Stay away from this nautical quality item as it is…

Most satisfied with the form factor!

First, I like the form factor, ease of installation and setup. Mounted on a Shakespeare 12" stainless steel Shakespeare rail mount extension to place above my radar antenna on the same radar mount. It mounts 18 to 20 feet above the waterline and the coaxial cable is run through the mast. In the port of Dana Point, I get nine HD channels at best, with line of sight of San Diego (75 miles). These are the same specs as other port HD TV antennas. The signal is strongest at night when the atmosphere

Looks good but doesn't work

Based on previous mixed reviews on this product I did 2 temporary setups to see how many channels I would be getting. I've compared it to a boosted directional antenna we bought a few months ago that picks up over 40 channels. The first placement was next to the current antenna, at about the same level. After 3 channel scans the best he could do was 4 channels. I then placed it on the boat at the same height as the mast. A little better - it turned out 13 channels. But only PBS, ABC and FOX, no

Really works! - TV antennas

I have tried most of the antenna types that are offered. They are all bad for home use and even worse for a boat other than this one. On a hook with most antennas I look for channels and then find about 10 channels. We're usually line of sight to New York, so a range of 25 miles is more than enough to expect some reception. A typical problem, the woman starts watching the program, and the tide changes or the wind blows, and we are directed the other way - the signal is gone. The plane flies…
