DOVO Shavette Blade Holder: Transparent and White for Hassle-Free Shaving Review

Okay, I ordered the red one first and got the clear one, which makes it difficult to see the silver blade at times. I use it to shave my face and trim my beard and mustache. When the blade is closed and the blade is inserted, the tongue is too long at the bottom opposite the hinge side. It's longer than the open blade. I trimmed the tongue to match the underside of the blade and now it works just as well as the original red retainer.

The holder works well, the only problem is that no matter what color you choose (I wanted and chose red) you get a transparent one. which kind of sucks. Another reviewer mentioned that DOVO switched to blank holders a while ago and he's right, they work just as well. My problem is that maybe then they shouldn't offer the damn Red Guard as an option. just a thought

I only use it for facial shaving at the hair salon. I just hate loading it in plastic and then sticking it in the stock. To become old. But feels good when shaving

I love my Dovo Chavette but these plastic inserts are absolute rubbish. My first ine broke within a few months and now it hurts. So I ordered a new one and it arrived broken in the package. The quality is absolute quality.

Have owned a Dovo Shavette for about 3 years. I have never replaced the original blade holder and while it continues to work well it is slightly discolored. I have ordered a new one for this. It broke in half when I inserted the blade. Okay, a minor inconvenience. I ordered another one just so it does the same thing. The hinge on them is extremely weak and as my first one lasted many years I can only conclude that they are not made by Dovo but are poorly made fakes. I'll order a new one direct…

The old one broke and this one looks like it will work fine for a few more years but give me a break it's a very small plain piece of plastic after all. I reckon it costs about two cents to make. It's basically plagiarism, but what's the alternative? Pay the fee and proceed. When this one wears out I will do it again, it's freaking better than straight razors and I can't keep the sharpness of my real straight razor.
