I had to return my previous purchase as it is too small for most shaving soaps, even the brushes are too thin. This replacement is a definite improvement. Elegant vessel and mixing cup. Made from good quality metal, light to medium weight, perfect size for any round soap puck and deep enough to create a good lather. Love the lid to hide what's left messy like most men would. I purchased this product on February 20th, 2016 and only noticed on June 3rd, 2016 that the side of the bowl where the lid is is cracked. I would not recommend this. I tried to initiate a refund and was told my window expired on March 21st. lame.

very pretty, functional and looks great on the bathroom vanity. I bought it for my husband last year. We don't know how, but the cup broke. He used it anyway. When I found it was split I bought him a new one for this year over the holidays - the same as last year. I am willing to give the same company another chance :-)

I'm disappointed that the 'weight/weight' option is missing on this shaving mug. I think I was expecting it to be a bit thicker and heavier, but I was wrong. Beautiful shell. I really liked him. But I would like to see it from the inside. Both times I ordered it the lid was stuck. And I mean HEAVY! And if I had pulled harder I would have damaged the small metal rod at the top. This is obviously a design flaw.

If you're buying glycerine shaving soap that comes in a box, get this one. I put my block in a bowl and let it sit in near boiling water for about 5 minutes to melt the block in the bowl. I let it cool for a few hours and then it was good to go. It works well and looks phenomenal sitting next to my chrome razor stand holding safety razors and a badger brush. I would recommend this if you want to give your bathroom a professional look!

How to make a stainless steel bowl with a lid, sell it to someone, only for that person to discover the lid doesn't fit the bowl. What the hell? After using this shaving bowl for the second time, it became completely unusable. The seal is so tight that the top handle came loose when I tried to open the bowl. I have emailed a company that claims to offer a lifetime warranty and still have not received a response from them. More than a week has passed. Apparently many people have had similar experiences with this Apollo product. Unacceptable.
