Ford Keyless Entry Remote Key Shell Replacement - 3 Buttons Empty Shell ONLY Review

I have had to replace the key fob 3 times in the last 6 months. The hooks on the replacement case that you use to attach it to your keychain broke after a few weeks on all of my replacements. I contacted the seller and they said it wasn't very good because of the quality. They basically said it was common. I thought they would give me some kind of loan. It doesn't cost much, but it was just a point.

Works as expected. It takes patience to carefully disassemble the old one (use a thin screwdriver), move all the internal parts into the new key fob cover, and firmly fit the two parts together. I also put a new battery in during the process so I don't have to do it again in a hurry. When it's done, it looks great and works great. I recommend this item to anyone who has the patience, skills and tools.

Perfect for my original Ford F-150 key fobs. I can reattach them to my keys instead of using a fabric keychain holder. I can see my buttons again! Really easy to change. Take a coin and insert it between the key ring grommets and gently twist to separate the new and old key fob. Remove the electronics from the old one, place them in the new key fob case and press firmly together. You now have a new keychain with visible buttons and a loop to attach to your keychain. Seems to be working so far and is a cheaper alternative than replacements I've seen elsewhere. If I've had one complaint to complain about, it's that the panic button seems to rise a bit above the surface of the rest of the remote, and I often accidentally press it and disable the alarm. It cannot be used without cutting or melting the molding. The 3rd middle rubber piece has an additional molding around the middle button that also needs to be scraped off. I bought this for the price and my 2002 F-250 Diesel, OEM key fob was looking pretty shabby. The original electronics were fine, so I just wanted a nicer case and rubber knobs. The problem is that the outer black case is not suitable for housing the electronics battery, so I had to use my original black case with a new rubber insert. It wouldn't be difficult for anyone to tell it apart from a factory original unless you had it nearby. It's practically identical in every way.
