Really helps move the chair smoothly across the carpet.

Ideal for kitchen chair legs. Protects the Berber rug from damage as we push and pull a heavy wooden dining room chair and holds a 160 lb woman with limited mobility while eating to or from the table. Glides smoothly - the crease that formed in the carpet has smoothed out now that the new glides are in place. And the chair puts significantly less strain on the joints. It's the same with our backs!

They glide well!

mother in law is 87 years old and has to push her chair in and out under the dining table by herself. (We keep pushing her too far and she can't yell at us to stop.) We had felt pads, but I need something smooth but not smooth, like the bottom of a Christmas sleigh. That's what we were looking for. Now she slides in and out on her own, loving them and enjoying being able to breathe. I no longer have to oil the floor so she can move the chair herself.

Pros
  • great for me
Cons
  • boring packaging

Install and forget

The felt tips on the underside of my IKEA tables and chairs were worn and torn unevenly which could scratch the floor with the furniture that had fallen over, so I bought several packs to replace them. Hammering them into wooden furniture legs is easy and they haven't given me any problems since. In fact, until I went through my Amazon shopping list today, I completely forgot I bought them, which means they haven't given me a reason to think about them for 8 months. That means they work…

The original glides barely moved on the carpet

I recently bought a large table with eight heavy wicker chairs. The chairs came with small and rather pointed tips. The chairs were heavy and used on a typical sisal carpet. The original sliders did not move easily across the carpet. I changed the Shepard airframes to 1.25 inches. This made a huge difference when entering and exiting the table. Now the chairs glide easily and smoothly over the carpet surface. I've only had the gliders for a few months but they work. Well, they have achieved…

Thought they glide better on carpet

Well made and easy to apply. I drilled pilot holes a little less than the width of a nail to make sure they wouldn't split the wood on the chair legs, then hammered them into the legs with a regular hammer. I made 6 chairs and none of the plastic heads broke. I used them on heavy oak chairs hoping they would slide more easily over the 1/2 inch pile rug we have in the dining room. They have helped some, but not as much as I would like. I think the nails are slipping. which thicker metal heads…
