Shimano Reliable Brand.

Nothing bad to say about Shimano. best, durable, quality control, smooth operation and the brand name speaks volumes. Never skimp on cheap alternative products on your bike if you want it to last long and trouble-free. Shimano is the way. Every bike, I've had 8 bikes in my entire life. They were all Shimano. Reliable Brand. A complaint. The prices keep getting higher. Almost too rich for my blood. Base.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Useless features

Predictable Shimano quality

No surprises, that's exactly what I expect from a replacement cassette. These things are durable, shift smoothly, and the 12-30 range is great for all but the most brutal of climbs. The Ultegra series strikes me as the perfect balance of weight and quality. Yes, the Dura-Ace is lighter, but I think the Ulterga lasts longer in the long run and although there are cheaper cassettes, I trust the shift quality of this cassette and have not regretted the purchase.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • No doubts

Shifts very smoothly

Great replacement for a worn out original 10 speed 105 cassette on my bike with over 2500 miles. I know most people say they are more miles away from the cassette but I have not kept my chain meticulously clean so after 2500+ miles the chain and cassette are quite worn out. 250 for a 105 cassette. Not a huge difference but I think I got a good deal and the shifting is great with the new gold plated KMC Ti-n chainring and original 105 speed shifters.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • boring packaging

Ideal gearing is the best among transmission components

This cassette is perfect for my needs. The 12-30T allows me to downshift once in both high and low gear. My bike originally came with an 11-28T cassette. This makes my compact twin (50-34) more manageable. I spent about the same amount of time on the higher and lower gear front sprocket. The low gear definitely helps me scale the Bay Area hills. I didn't need an extremely low gear (like a mountain bike) and I prefer minor rear gearing changes to the big, extremely low gear changes. Also, usingโ€ฆ

Love this cassette and ratchet cassette

I have been riding for two years and average 3500 miles a year. I have a Trek Domane 4.5 from 11-28 105 that came stock with the bike. I live in the Central Valley of California where riding is no different than riding flat. Riding through the hilly and mountainous areas of the Sierra Nevada, Pacific Rim and along the coast, I fight at a high level and wish I had extra gear. The answer was the Shimano CS-6700 Ultegra 12-30T 10-speed cassette. When I needed it 30 were there to help me. Don't get

Big improvement/ glad I bought it!

I've been having trouble shifting gears on my road bike for a few months. My chain measured well so I just kept adjusting and struggling with it. Finally decided to try this new cassette, even my old one looked ok for 6000 miles. Great progress! Let's get back to smooth shifting. My old cassette was 11-28 and I decided to try this 11-30 to make it a little easier to climb hills at an older age. The 2 teeth on the bottom gear doesn't seem like much, but it's a noticeable improvement. I can nowโ€ฆ

Like so far... ๐Ÿ‘ป

Feels a lot softer than the old cassette 105 11-28... (ie cassette and chain as needed per recommendation from my lb mechanic and after checking with chain tensioner.) So far is it's a great combo with a 50/39 cog in hilly terrain with 400-1000ft of elevation gain at 6%-25%+ grade in some spots. The advantage is that I use almost all gears efficiently and walk much more efficiently. You will lose top speed so keep going and forget about hill bombing, once you get over 45mph just spin aroundโ€ฆ

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Works well with my 2013 Shimano 105 flat front derailleur.

Replaced my Specialized Roubaix 105 11-27 cassette with a 12-23 corn cob. Requires Park Tools FR-5G Cassette Lock Ring Tool or equivalent. (Not a freewheel tool). It is also recommended to use a chain wrench to remove the sprocket, e.g. B. the Park Tools SR-1. This freehub was the only option for a 14 tooth sprocket. (i.e. 20 mph at 93 cadence). The exchange lasted 20 minutes. This device comes with an extra gasket and it's not clear if you need it or not. In my case, installed without spacers,

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Speed
