Indispensable for podcasts and recordings.

Required for podcasting. These microphones are the best in their price range. They're about half the price of the SM58 and sound pretty much the same (wish someone could tell me the difference). I use them in the studio and on the go. Reliable and you can't beat the Shure brand. They are perfect for those who want to start playing podcasts. A+

No one will ever know

Looks like 58 at first glance. Still looks like 58 on closer inspection. And for most practical situations (like live singing in a garage or bar) No one will ever be able to tell that you're using 48 instead of 58 (including most audio engineers). However, your wallet will notice a big difference; more than half the price difference. Shure makes great microphones, even the cheapest. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Useful for more than its intended purpose

Too good not to own!

Like many others I have looked at the Shure SM line of microphones and from experience and research I can confidently say that they are the best in the business. But I seriously don't understand how they make a dime on this device. It's as good as their $99 mic people swear by and it sounds just as good! And at a lower price! You must buy it, now. I bought it for voice acting and podcast use. flawless, quiet and durable. Fantastic value! Dollar for dollar, the best for your hard earned dollar…

Stay with Shure, click here if you need it

I use the Shure 58 most of the time but just wanted to get another mic so I went with this cheaper Shure mic. To attempt. The reviews were pretty good and I thought if there wasn't something else I would use it to connect a mic to a speaker or something. Well it turns out it's not a bad mic at all, not a '58, but it's great for someone and you don't have to worry about playing with the mic and getting too angry. It's really good and you won't be disappointed if you buy it. It's better than most

Sounds no worse than the more expensive SM-58.

I bought this mic for a reason most people don't need to consider. I have an autoimmune disease and was constantly tired of using a DJ mic at karaoke. Now I bring mine and I've never gotten sick. (The DJ is a friend of mine so she doesn't mind plugging in an extra mic.) I've been using the SM58 for decades now and find the sound quality of this SM48 to be just as good in my area. the bass voice of Pink Floyd's "Mother" to Soundgarden's loud "Outshined" scream. And everything in between…

Makes me wonder why the Blue Yeti exists

I've had a long history of background noise problems with streamer mics that pick up everything in the room. On the advice of an audio engineer on Reddit, who explained the difference between these dynamic mics and the condenser mics sold to streamers. I bought this mic, audio interface, cable, and desktop stand for about the same price as any of the three condenser mics I've tried before. The difference is stunning. The sound is incredibly clear and all background noise is gone. The voice…

Great value version of the SM 58 Ideal for speech and speech and home studio projects and suitable for disc jockeys on a budget I think this will make a great addition to my JUST ONE mic collection. For best results, you will need a windscreen with this mic, which eliminates annoying "P-pops" and provides an overall smoother sound. UPDATE February 22nd 2018 that was 1985 for me, just 19 years after the SM58 was first launched, it's been around for over 33 years, just like its older siblings the

High quality workmanship, best for backing vocals or screamers

I have four Shure microphones SM-48 (this cardioid model is being tested) SM-58 (gold standard cardioid) SM-58S (gold standard cardioid ) with on/off slide switch) BETA 58A (supercardioid) Had I known I wouldn't have bought this mic, it doesn't fit my needs but from the description and all the lovely details it definitely sounded like it was right microphone for me. I have a karaoke night and most normal female singers don't have much strength. You can't use this mic because it needs too much…

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • High price

Whether the SM48-LC vocal mic is right for you depends on your sensitivity to good value Performance ratio and your price-performance ratio from personal taste in the characteristics of the microphone. It seems like a well-made tool, so let's get down to business. I spent half a day comparing A/B between the SM48 ($30), my almost new SM58 ($100) and the almost new Chinese fake SM58 (Digital Reference DRV-100) that I have on sale for $10 had bought. . I compared the three mics through my speaker
