The last piece needed in this procedure was oversized in diameter. The oil seal between the lower block and the output gear was a hard fiber washer that did not fit in the hole that the original rubber washer was in. I had to go to the marine store.

Almost everything fits well. The gasket that goes over the water pump housing is slightly shorter than the old gasket, so the gasket tool has no contact. But apart from that everything is all right. The shaft sealing ring has become a little lighter. I pressure tested it and it leaked a little.

Everything you need to replace your Mercruiser Gen II outdrive water pump. Every part was well made with the exception of the pump housing outlet which was not properly formed making it a bit difficult to connect the upper and lower units. Made it on the third try. I found that having a stand to hold the bottom block upright and then dropping the top block straight down finally worked. The pump will now properly pump water through the engine cooling system.
