not what I expected

I don't think the description described this and its size well. It didn't work for me, but it's too cheap to take the time to return. I put 3 anyway because I'm sure it will work for the right person with the right usage.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Communication with seller

This is a plug Oil drain plug

What else to say, this is a plastic plug for my Mercrusier outboard motor. It appears to be identical to the part that originally came with boats about 13 years ago. The block he is tying has broken and has come loose from the thread.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • I won't say anything

They fit great but only last about 2-3 years like mine.

Please note that this product is a single connector. They fit great but only last about 2-3 years since I replaced 3. I'm pretty sure it has to do with living in the south and my boat is in the water 9 months of the year. Fits well and works as advertised.

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • I will add later

Suitable for Mercruiser 8.1/496 replacement!

Fits like my Mercruiser 8.1/496 Horizons. I had to replace a couple of them that got stuck from wet water and had to drill out the old ones. I had trouble finding them locally and they fit perfectly. Not sure which engines they fit, but the Mercruiser 496 Horizon has no issues.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Some flaws

Fits like the original

Worked great to replace a cracked connector on my 2007 boat. I was told that old boats had brass plugs that lasted a long time. It would be nice to find a replacement. I've read that these plastic plugs become brittle over time and they all need to be changed at the same time. I just made one and we'll see how the other one holds up.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad but...

Worked but quality TBD

Bought to replace the drain plug for a Mercruiser 5.0L EFI. These plugs did the trick as I had a couple of old cracks when I removed them at the end of last season. Being plastic they will become brittle over time so I would recommend changing the spark plugs every few years. I wish someone would make a brass version of these plugs. Given the price, I hope they last at least a couple of years.

Pros
  • Test results stable
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
