I love how well built this model is and that it comes with a decent heatsink. I don't like a sled rolling the dice for the ability to actually boot the SSD, but that's more of a BIOS/UEFI bug. In my case with an Asrock Z77 phone it doesn't boot but works like a handoff boot with some workarounds. I'm a little offended that Asrock isn't releasing a BIOS update to fix this issue, but that's not Silverstone's fault. This sled works great, the only downside is that all my installs on the hard drive

Pros
  • Includes an optional low-profile expansion slot
Cons
  • Small things

Plug-and-play fans and cooling

Very easy to install without drivers. Previously I used a Samsung (MZ-V7S1T0B/AM) 970 EVO Plus SSD 1TB - M.2 NVMe. Contains 2 sets of pads: one thick, the other thin. I've used thicker ones and the case felt too cramped for me, so I'd recommend going with a thin pair with this SSD. In addition, it was a painless installation.

Pros
  • Includes optional low-profile expansion slot
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

The motherboard may limit functionality and performance.

Although my adapter stopped working after a few weeks, SilverStone promptly replaced it under warranty. The exchange works great. Please note: Motherboards without M.2 slots may not be able to boot from drives in this adapter unless allowed by a BIOS update. In addition, boards with older PCIe 2 slots may not achieve the advertised read/write speeds of a PCIe 3 hard drive. This adapter can work with motherboard performance and higher; Moderate expectations are required for older motherboards.

Pros
  • Converts an M.2 port (M-Key) to a PCIe x4 interface. No driver installation required
Cons

It works and has a heatsink

I installed a SilverStone ECM24 in a classic Mac Pro for an NVME SSD. The installation went smoothly, but only because I found a helpful guide/review online. If you're new to this type of product, forget the "instructions" that came with it. One thing that a user can recognize is the choice of thermal pads to use. This depends on the thickness of your NVME SSD. I also used the standard bracket. I have to give one star for the extra screws. They also included a small screwdriver if you don'tโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Supports M.2 SSDs 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 lengths
Cons
  • Dear
