I have this to power an external LCD that I have mounted on top of my camera. I didn't want to use a separate battery solution so I hooked it up from my Neewer LCD screen to an Ankler 20,000milliamp backup battery and it works great. My camera setup is definitely a Frankenstein setup but does exactly what I need it to. It even has a white status LED that shows when power is being applied correctly.

I had very little hope that this cable would work but last weekend I finally managed to use this cable and it worked perfectly. I'm not sure how 5 volts can be converted to 12 volts, but this cable does the trick. I plugged the cable into the rear USB port on the back of a battery-powered Berhinger satellite speaker, and then plugged the other end into the Alto Pro receiver while DJing in a separate room. This cable now makes my speaker completely independent of a power outlet.

If you are considering this product for my use case and there are many variables keep this in mind as it may work better for other uses. I bought this to power an LED strip with a USB battery.
