I like the look of the toaster but thought it would be an excellent toaster for the price. Cooks unevenly on both sides. Overall it's a good toaster.

The toaster was delivered to us on 01/10/2016 and was not used often. We have now found that the internal toast burners no longer work and only one side of our bread is toasted. This has nothing to do with the bagel button. It's unforgivable that a $150 product should fail after two months. Buyer warning!

I expected the metal shell to get hot (like my oven) but not hot enough to burn my fingers. It's really dangerous when you have kids like we do. I really liked the design but had to send it back. I don't understand why there are much cheaper toasters out there that the outer shell never overheats. Too bad.

My Smeg 2-slot toaster is excellent! It actually tans evenly! It holds thick slices of bread and the defrost and bagel functions work well. I have a Chrome model. It is solid, well made and attractive. Had to return "best toaster" Hammacher Schlemmer because it browned unevenly. I've read reviews of many other brands and this was a common complaint! With toasters that have been around for so long, you'd think everyone already had toast!

I really like this toaster. Looks beautiful. I always keep bread in the freezer as a backup and this toaster makes it easy to defrost and toast with the defrost function. The toaster toasts the bread evenly. Sometimes I toast or re-toast naan, and if it's unevenly shaped, it tends not to toast evenly. Although I think that's to be expected. Good quality toaster and very toasty. I couldn't be happier with the toaster's performance. The crumb tray is spring-loaded to slide out when you want to clean it, and I feel like it has plenty of toast settings. The freeze function worked very well. I posted pictures of my box. I ordered a stainless steel color but received a black toaster in what I thought was a blue toaster box.
