Mount for Trail Jack Review

Easy installation. The base size is too big for the Hi-Lift jack. This allows the 35" spare wheel to have the maximum rear mount size without interfering with the jack mount. No merge in case of error when opening the rear window.

Good jacking point. Easy to install. Very well made and solidly built. The jack stays firmly in place, does not wobble or vibrate. Of course, I've only taken it on a couple of off-road rides, so time will tell if it holds up for extended use. So far, so good.

Holds jack securely with no rattling. I was a little worried it wouldn't hold the port's loading jack, but it did. Saved me from buying a new jack. I will also use the built in CB antenna mount. Very easy to mount on the Smittybilt HD Pivot spare wheel mount.

This product is exactly as advertised and definitely well built. My only concern is that it will obstruct your rear window. If care and attention are not given every time, I am afraid that my rear window will break. Especially when someone I don't know opens the tailgate. At the same time, there isn't much room for JK.

The instructions and diagrams that come with it are terrible. Diagrams are not precise and instructions skip steps or lack detail. This is typical of the Smitty Bilt products I own. It is good that the real product is good. You will need a Smittybilt 2843 Pivot HD oversize tire carrier to do this. The bracket is very strong and holds the jack in place without rattling. I don't have a lock yet and the rack isn't actually set up for a lock so I might have to get creative.
