Description of Effortlessly Craft Professional Tapered Plugs with Snappy 16 Plug Cutter
5/16" hex drive plug cutter. Hardened steel for long life. Tight fit; no glue needed. Plug cutter fits in quick change chuck in a drill press. Tapered sides and a chamfered end for easy start.
I needed 30 walnut dowels. Instead of ordering corks I used this cutter and they came out perfectly. I've never used a pocket knife before. I'm very glad I went this route.
I had to make about 100 end caps to replace hinges on cabinets with soft close ones. The screw holes did not match and nylon inserts were used. I had to remove the inserts and plug the holes. Has worked flawlessly.
I bought this dowel to fill some Allen screw holes on my new Batu (wood) deck. I used a 600 rpm drill and a industrial vacuum to get the debris out and blow air through the chisel to cool it. I kept raising the wood chisel while sawing to aid in cooling and was able to carve the 50 plugs I needed. When I was done I looked at the tip and was surprised that it was still as sharp as when I started. Keep it cool and take your time. You have to dig it in to get the bevel on the fork. Very satisfied.
Pros
Tapered sides and beveled end for easier insertion
