Put solder inside

Meh. Keep the pin close as the solder will still remain inside. Cut off another piece and both are stuck. You get the same pieces, but you can't pull them out.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Well built but not easy to open split rings

I give it 5 stars because it's very well made - a quality tool. But that didn't make opening the 4mm split rings any easier.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

I didn't know it was a thing.

but thank god I found it! no more lost dollars, i mean lot. It cuts great, and while there's no spring to lift it back up, it gets the job done and for less than $9, what do you expect?!

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • old

I Love Love - Power & Hand Tools

Love Love Love Her. I have arthritis and small pieces of solder really kill my hands. This remedy really relieves the pain. Yes, the scissors are larger than traditional, but you can make smaller scissors with a flush cutter.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Some Trouble

glad i bought them. I would recommend it to a friend (if I had any) :-)

These wire cutters allow me to cut the same size soldering tips - both sheet metal and wire. It's easier to figure out exactly where to place the solder because I don't have to re-evaluate the spacing between each piece.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Big and bulky

These cutters are great for making identical solder pads

I used to cut, cut, cut, cut, cut, infinite solder foil and there were never two parts the same size. These milling cutters are ideal for producing identical solder pads. When you use them to cut solder wire, the cut pieces are easily caught by your finger instead of flying around on your soldering table. Love it!

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Repair

This is awful! They don't have a spring so you have to hold them so you can open and close them yourself. This creates a slight tension in your hands. Although it's not the worst. My solder chips are stuck. I have about 5 in there that I can't get out. i will return it Unfortunately, you get what you pay for.

Pros
  • Ideal for cutting solder
Cons
  • Not as thick as other cutters

Nice pair of wire cutters at a good price

These are a good pair of wire cutters and you can cut different sizes of solder pieces if you have a steady hand. The only thing that bothers me is that when you cut a whole piece of solder it often gets caught in the lower jaws of the cutters. You can use something as simple as a solder pick to pry them out, but that basically happens every time you cut a full size piece, which is a little annoying. I would recommend cutting a few pieces and then removing them all at once.

Pros
  • Won't flip solder pieces
Cons
  • Damaged

I used them for soldering sheet metal. For this purpose it works quite well. I have to fish solder out of pliers quite often, but for a casual jeweler like me, this is a good place to start. Maybe over time I'll buy a more expensive pair to see if there's a big difference. My teacher uses soldering pliers that cost over 3 times as much and they have the same problem. It's still much more convenient than sawing the pieces one by one by hand, even though you end up having to fish the cut solder…

Pros
  • 5-1/2 inch (140mm) length
Cons
  • Other interesting options are available.
