I had a very hard time shaping the shape at first, but after one night my gums swelled up terribly. This is great for relieving clenching jaws, but at a very painful price. My gums swell and bleed, but I wear them from time to time to take the pressure off my face and jaw. I wish I could get a refund or they would make a version that doesn't stick up as high on the gum line and just covers the teeth like the real $400 my dentist wants me to buy, but I can't afford it , so I tried .

Since you clench your jaw almost all the time when you grind your teeth, I've tried several homemade mouth guards to relieve the pain, tension, and headaches associated with such problems. I was impressed! It helped a little and I can feel the difference the next day when I forget to put it to bed. I can't give 5 stars because it's not the most comfortable. This is my favorite! Clumsy at first, but it keeps your molars from ever touching, and somehow it's more comfortable than a full tray. It makes you sound weird. I like to put it on when we go to bed and tell my husband about my day just to make it more interesting. The instructions for molding are clear and helpful. I never had to redraw. I bought this after my dentist suggested I try it for clenching. I have TMJ and would only recommend it if you have TMJ if your dentist thinks it's okay. I like that it stays in place effortlessly and the fact that my molars aren't touching makes it easier for my jaw to relax.
