Pretty Good Tapes: Blank Video Media

I tried these tapes on our old non-HD Sony camera and they worked pretty well. Tape, camera etc etc I recently got an HD camera and the picture is much better when recorded on the same tapes. The video doesn't seem as clear and sharp as it could be. I'd love to try an updated version of these to see how they compare. For normal recordings, they worked perfectly.

Good price enough to meet customer needs

These bands are very convenient to buy, especially from Revain as they are a lot cheaper than all my local stores. The price usually fluctuates. So always keep one in your cart to stay informed when prices drop. I bought mine for only $12 for 5 cartridges! It usually costs me so much to buy 3 from Sears so can't complain. This is my main source for MiniDV tapes. If you're worried about the quality changing over time, it just depends on how well you store it, just like any other band.

Pros
  • Complete set

  • Good but not great

Excellent ribbons for the price

The first time I used these cassettes was when a friend gave me one for a school project. I was planning on buying one and just reusing it but then I found them here at Revain at such a great price so I decided to buy 5 packs and keep the original frames in case I ever need them. I used these tapes. now for at least 2 weeks and still have not received any errors from the computer. I recommend everyone to get these tapes if they have a small consumer camera or are in the mid-range with theirโ€ฆ

Bait and replacement? I do not think so!

Some people seemed shocked they didn't get what was shown in the picture. The photo shows a tape in a yellow box named DVC-60 PRR. When they arrive they will be in blue packaging with part number DVM60PRR. It's the same cartridge except Revane made a mistake in the description and picture. This is not a DVC-60 PRR. DVC is what is printed on the front of the tape. DVC stands for Digital Video Cassette. However, the part number DVM60PRR. PRR means it is a Sony premium tape. Revain should correctโ€ฆ

Great ribbons for the price

I first used these ribbons when a friend gave me one for a school project shoot. College tapes, but that doesn't apply to these. I have ever needed it. I've been using these tapes for at least 2 weeks now and still haven't received any errors from the computer. I recommend everyone to get these tapes if they have aโ€ฆ

They work great - Accessories

As a Sony Mini DV owner I have decided to buy Sony branded tapes. While I'm not usually a brand-sensitive person, I've read some reviews that say you should stick to the same brands when it comes to magnetic media like tape. Also, because of the lubricants that different manufacturers use, you probably shouldn't switch from one brand to another after a significant period of use. However, I'm interested in trying Sony HD Mini DV tapes even though my camera isn't an HD model. Since both tapes are

This is my favorite brand of tape and now they're cheap too!

I love it when you can get GOOD things at a LOW price! I've used enough MiniDV tapes over the past few years to learn the ins and outs of this format. I have many different brands of cameras, from mid-range to more expensive Panasonics, a good Sony and a cheap Canon. I seem to have the fewest problems with Sony's MiniDV media. I've had a lot of dirty head issues on my Panasonic (needed to be cleaned) but I noticed I had a lot fewer issues when I switched to Sony media. I ordered several ofโ€ฆ
