I bought this for my seniors. Batteries are empty so quickly! (6-7 hours of recording needed new ones. So with 2-3 sessions a day I ran out of big batteries quickly.) Adding to that complaint, the software is terrible and you have to convert files to WAV THEN MP3. tedious!

Great product. Smaller than I thought from the photos and basically the whole body is plastic, the buttons are small but I'm ok with that. That being said, it has everything you could want: an FM radio to record from, digital recordings to transfer to your computer and then to CD. Ideal for recording shortwave radio broadcasts such as convention programs, etc.

A week ago I bought a Sony ICD-MX20 digital voice recorder. I was surprised that Sony doesn't provide downloads for the accompanying software called "Digital Voice Editor". Sony customer service informed me that if you lose the CD that came with it, you will need to buy a new one. Only software patches are available for download.
