Great product suitable for portable audio and video

I bought this radio for one of my clients and he was completely satisfied! He's been telling me about it ever since. Not only does it sound great, but it's double the price back home (Trinidad). Try and never look back

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Infinitely slow

SW channels are difficult to set up

This is Sony, should be good right? However, setting up the SW channels is a headache! If you increase the sensitivity it will stop at any sound, and if you decrease it it won't find it anywhere! I prefer the manual setting.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Negative present

It was a pretty honest product

It just so happened that the radio came on when it was on our Blizzard aria. And the quality of the product received was very poor. I was about to get it back. After that, a few days later, however, we found the translation quality to be pretty good. I would rather rate it 3+ What is certainly unsatisfactory is the extremely overpriced Boris

Shortwave didn't work, or was rocket science involved?

Radio in good condition. It appeared to be a reliable device. FM didn't seem to be of much use in my small town with 20+ FM stations. The memory kits were hard to figure out, so I just set the clock and so on. What I bought it for the most was shortwave. Apart from the weather and one or two other HF signals, he received nothing. Management absolutely stinks. This is a shortwave radio and has very little SW information. There are several SW areas but they don't tell you and you can't easily…

Fair radio with tin speakers

I have had a Sony SW35 for five years and although it has better reception than most analogue radios and is not much larger than a CD case I cannot recommend it. First, the five levels of magazine presets are counterintuitive and require a lot of practice and constant reference to the user manual. Second, the speaker is almost useless, a piece of tin that doesn't care for the $75 radio. Third, for the same price, you can buy a much more advanced Degen 1103 or its Kaito 1103 clone, which has a…

I'm very impressed with how well it performs even on fairly weak signals with very good sensitivity and selectivity. ADVANTAGES: 1) Double conversion, PLL (Phase Locked Loop), All-Digital World Wide Band radio…

Great basic AM/FM/HF receiver

This little Sony ICF-SW35 Digital Tuning World Band Receiver is a great starter or second HF receiver. It's also a great portable AM/FM radio. As with most Sony radios, the music quality is honestly just about adequate, but for listening to the news and conversations, which is what most shortwave listeners do, the sound quality is really good and very clear. The radio has very few functions. For example, it has no direct input keyboard and does not accept SSB (single-sideband) transmissions…
