🎧 Sony ZX-Series MDR-ZX100/RED Monitor Headphones in Red Review

I loved these headphones so much I got an extra pair after owning the previous ones for over three years. Unfortunately, new ones break much faster than old ones. The padding is peeling and crumbling after a few months, rendering the headphones unusable. I have to throw out new ones, see the attached photos. The new looking couple are over three years old and the ugly couple were bought six months ago.

I know very little about the differences in headphones - just wanted an inexpensive choice suitable for listening to meditation recordings. I chose them after watching a video review (thank you!) by a young man who also bought the Sony brand. These headphones are perfect for my basic needs and most importantly my meditation downloads are very clear to hear in stereo. The fit is relatively comfortable and adjustments can be made easily. I bought two pairs of these headphones for my office (for listening to audio and - sometimes - detailed dictation or other business documents). I'm not thrilled with the material they chose for the headphones (they feel a bit flimsy like they'll wear out or crack over time). I also don't like that the earcups fit in-ear rather than around-ear (or over-ear). Finally, the headphones aren't as comfortable as in-ear headphones with a padded center bracket.
