Mediocre lens for lenses

Most reviews of this pro lens say it is less sharp than a pro lens should be. I thought it was right. The lens is a Sony G/Zeiss OSS lens with glass - reasonably priced and expected to be sharp throughout the range. No, that is not so. Compared to my other Sony lenses, it lacks sharpness across the entire focal length and aperture range. Any lens, especially a Sony/Zeiss lens, should be the best. As reported by almost all reviewers, this lens lacks the quality you would expect from any camera…

great lens for my needs

very heavy lens, I thought about the Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM lens too, but I'm glad I didn't take the GM lens - it's still there heavier than this. very diverse. suitable for landscapes, portraits or zoom. I'm not a professional user, just dad wants to take good photos of kids. not very sharp you say, it's sharp enough for me, fast enough. I don't do extreme sports, so I'm not protected from the weather. low resale value? No problem, I plan to use this for a long time. I don't think I need…

good workmanship, optical steadyshot

The lens is very rigid and the barrel does not slide smoothly. Pros: Huge range, reasonable price, good build quality, optical stabilization, quiet autofocus, fast focusing in good light. I took it to a baseball game with my kids and the range was very comfortable and the pictures came out well. Cons: The lens zoom is stiff (unreasonably hard), heavy, and not as compact as I expected. I bought it before a beach vacation and this lens has never left the hotel room. I mounted the lens on my A7R…

It has replaced my prime lenses and I don't mind

I wasn't expecting much when I bought this lens as the reviews are quite mixed. other sides. But to be honest, after a few days of trying, I don't understand the hatred for this lens. Many YouTube photographer reviewers and users of some technical photography sites talk about this lens as if it were a bad kit lens. This is anything but true! After moving to a full frame camera, I realized that my budget limits the number of lenses I can have. One of the simple ones I bought cost a thousand…

  • Hard to say

I've had this lens for a few months now and have used it in a variety of situations. This review will break down the questions to ask yourself before purchasing this lens, as well as the pros and cons I found when using it. Brace yourself, it'll be long but necessary if you don't want to spend hundreds of dollars. Questions: Do you have a full frame or crop camera? What is your environment or the environment where you will be filming? What will your topic be? If you have a multi-lens camera, is

Just super, it's beautifully made, I'm very happy with it.

We chose a universal lens for a long time so that we could take it everywhere with us, and not carry a lot of different ones. We read a lot of reviews, looked at examples, etc. but in combination with the Sony a7 mark3, it pleased the eye. You can throw sleepers at me, but this lens has it all. And everyone will find some flaws in him, but his dignity is in universality. It suited me and my wife. Was accepted with a bang. In this price segment, this is the best "station wagon".

Pros
  • Lens - "Universal". With Sony, the a7m3 proved to be an excellent reporter. A good stub, a good zoom, even shoots normally in the "wide angle" mode. From long distances, it pleasantly lathers the background. Autofocus works great. Shooting in the dark is good.
Cons
  • Heavy and bulky. It cannot be specifically attributed to any type of lens. Expensive.

The right product for me, the price suited me.

This lens is the reason I switched from the Canon EOS 6D+24-105/4L to the Sony A7III. For cycling trips, I needed a universal zoom that would allow me to shoot EVERYTHING without constantly changing optics. In terms of mechanics, the lens is a very solid amateur. Moisture protection is declared, although it is not visible from the outside. Autofocus is excellent - silent and fast enough, although in difficult conditions it is not so reliable. The build quality is high, despite the plastic…

Pros
  • - Convenient for situations where it is not possible to change optics. - Saves a lot of mass and volume compared to a couple of conventional zooms covering the same range. - Allows you to instantly switch between 24 and 240 mm, which sometimes gives great pictures, while others frantically change optics. - Silent, fairly fast and efficient autofocus. - Excellent mechanical quality for an amateur lens. - Worthy approximation, shooting "semi-macro" is possible. - Some semblance of moisture protection is declared. - Decent image quality for an ultrazoom, especially in the middle of the frame, especially up to 100mm. - Reasonable weight and dimensions for a full-frame zoom, differs little from the EF24-105 / 4L. - Great for amateur video, both in terms of quality and mechanical part (noiselessness and smooth focusing and zooming).
Cons
  • — Not the best for shooting in low light. - Unreliable autofocus performance in dynamic scenes and in low light. - The image quality (in particular, at a long focus) is expectedly not up to more specialized optics. - High price for an amateur lens. - Huge scatter and unpredictable quality of each individual instance, which is natural for ultrazoom. After the purchase, my lens required adjustment in the official service (under warranty, it took a month), because at 35 mm the right side of the picture was soapy. For optics of this class, this is NORMAL. When buying a 10x full-frame amateur zoom, you need to lay a month in advance for possible adjustment. If every lens had been so carefully adjusted at the factory, it would have cost twice as much.

Disgusting, will never recomend it for anybody!

According to DXOMARK tests, this lens has a resolution of only 9 megapixels when mounted on a 36 megapixel A7R camera, this is the lowest result of all Sony lenses for a full frame, even a standard 28-70 lens, despite the fact that everyone scolds it, it is much superior to this one in sharpness, since on tests gives a total resolution with the same camera of 15 megapixels. Here is the article itself, in English. https://www. Dxomark. Com/sony-fe-24-240mm-f3-5-6-3-oss-lens-review-sony-superzoom…

Pros
  • Large range of focal lengths, weight and dimensions.
Cons
  • Very low sharpness, the lowest of the Sony lenses at full frame.

The quality is terrible and the product is not what it says it is.

The lens was focused only at focal length up to 150 mm and at the longest end (240). They gave it for warranty repair to an authorized service center, from where it seemed to be sent to Hong Kong. Upon receipt from the repair, they reported that they had replaced the optical unit. Now it has become even worse: the image in the viewfinder doubles and floats, it focuses only on the longest end. Of course, we will try to return it for warranty repair again, but the impression of the product is…

Pros
  • Focal length, aperture.
Cons
  • Did not focus from 150 mm onwards. Poor work of the Hong Kong service center (they made a terrible product out of a bad product).
