Sotek Compatible Cartridge Replacement Brother Review

I have bought these replacement cartridges twice and have been VERY satisfied with the product and especially the price. I recently had to replace the cyan cartridge and my MFC J485DW printer did not accept the cartridge for the first time. It kept showing "cannot be recognized". After many attempts with 2 new cartridges I gave up and contacted Sotek via email. I received a quick reply and they offered to send me a replacement package. I was very impressed with their excellent customer service.

I've read that they were difficult to load and the Brother printer recognized them but I had no problems, I put them in and they started printing nice crisp colors and I don't have to Pay outrageous prices for Brother cartridges.

These cartridges were extremely difficult to install. Normally the cartridges snap right into place, but it took 10-20 tries for each to click properly. Often when I thought they would fit correctly, the printer still didn't recognize them. In a fit of sanity, I removed the blue cartridge before it ran out, causing it to leak *everywhere*. I brought this toner for my brother's printer. The model numbers match my printer, but the toner does not match my printer. The size is shorter than the original manufacturer's tone, so this product does not work as advertised. The toner is also missing an internal defect which should be within the circle which is another reason why this brand's ink cartridge does not work. I'm still waiting for a refund as I sent the item back two weeks ago with a return label.

These ink cartridges replace the OEM inks in my Brother MFC series printers and deliver good colors with minimal smearing. Probably as a good advertisement for Brother originals. The only downside is that some, but not all, of these cartridges are not registered by the chipset reader in the printer. Most display a message that the ink tank has been replaced and is full. Wow, I've always been skeptical about other brands of cartridges, but I have to say I'm impressed! It's great for the price! For the price of an original Brother cartridge you get the whole set AND a bonus black cartridge. Right now I have 1 of each color set and they work great. If you change them first, the printer will make a fuss that the cartridge isn't recognized, but if you just pull it out and reinsert it another time, it will be recognized and you're done! Yes. I've tried a few to keep up with the ink the J485DW takes, oh brother to clear me up before I can use the ink to print. It looked good in the box, a touch of note, and installation was easy, although it took two latches to find the XL Blk cartridge. No complaints. I will buy more of these and expect the price to be well below the standard that the manufacturer no longer offers. Which isn't the best argument for buying their new models.
