repair kit seems very good. The instructions alone are very detailed and worth the money. The wicks, wipers and seals are clean cut and appear to be made of quality materials. What raised this to 5 stars was that they included a free copy of South Bend's How to Run a Lathe book. It was an unexpected surprise and I was really happy to open the box and find something different.

I have a South Bend Heavy 10 that was made circa 1981. I had to go through it, clean and replace all the wicks, there were a few broken gears that needed replacing. I reviewed the book, it is very detailed with easy to follow step by step instructions and they helped me understand how the machine is made and maintained. I highly recommend getting the full set along with the book, if you're not sure if you can service the lathe yourself you can't go wrong.

I've looked at the reviews and seen where other people are getting books with their order. Luckily I wasn't expecting anything other than the product pictured.
