🚗 Spectre Performance 6081 Dana 30 Differential Cover Review

Okay it's installed and the connector never tightens even though it screws all the way down and is NPT so there's no way to fix it.

Installation was quick and easy. The only issue I had was the front steering rack getting close to the top of the differential making it difficult to get there and loosen the bolt. This is very easy to do with the switch, just a bit tricky at the beginning.

Works as it should, the only complaint I have is that the filler plug never tightens, it screws right through the diff if you let it, so I am not sure if it's leaking and unlike the 8.25 diff cover sold it comes with working bolts.

Front and back already done. Changing the differential oil for the price adds some bling! No leaks, perfect for 97 XJ Dana 35 rear and 30 front, used lucus 80/90 gear oil, nice and smooth. Used gasket comes with sealant and your kit. Gitty, get up and go.

The cover looks very beautiful, the chrome is very bright, the cover thickness is very thick, the cover is beautiful. But the connector screws through until it falls into the differential there is no tape or dreadlocks there is no latch nothing I guess I didn't notice it was made in Taiwan which explains everything

Good quality and fit. Couldn't get the plug out of the old one. It was cheaper than a non-chrome replacement cap. Fits perfectly on my '97 Grand Cherokee front diff. The screws weren't long, I used the ones that came with the kit and they were fine. I didn't use a pad. I used Permatex Ultra Black silicone. I actually painted it black after installing it.

I installed this diff cover last month and it still keeps the gear oil leak free. It looks good and is similar in weight to my original/genuine cap. If I (as a girl) can install it, anyone else can. So I had to tighten the bottom bolts a few times because of a small leak. BUT that may be because my pumpkin hull is a bit rusty.
