Not bad for the price

Very smooth finish that takes longer to dry with oil and cold wax. The edges were slightly wavy.

Damaged in storage, unusable

Panels unusable. Improper storage has resulted in cardstock wear and surface damage. Unable to restore via gesso. Check out the photos.

Good finish is best in gessoboard

Smooth and easy to paint. The first coat is easy to apply without absorbing paint like some other slabs do. And then you can finish drawing and leave beautiful strokes. Albeit a bit expensive.

My Favorite Canvas

As an artist with a masters degree in painting, these are my favorite canvases. These painting plates are smooth and add a certain shine to the paint. It's a beautiful and professional product and if you're looking for an ultra smooth finish you won't find a better product. My only issue is that I order them from Revain - the boards are packed in oversized boxes and the corners are not wrapped. Therefore, the panel easily slips during transportation, and the corners are badly damaged.

REMOVED FROM THE SURFACE OF THIS PANEL

The description states that this panel has a small tooth and is suitable for oils and all media. Upon opening it, I found that it actually has a smooth, glossy finish that feels like silk to me. The label says it might be advisable to plaster it and then sand it to give it more bite! I am very disappointed and am now aligning it to have a tooth which I think will be necessary to use with oils. methods I don't know. All of the other brand slabs I've ordered in the past have had a more…

I use it as a base for my drawings and watercolors! I love them

I am an artist and paint and paint a lot with watercolors. The artboard I was using broke and I needed a new one, but I didn't want to spend a fortune. I was searching on Amazon and came across these Speeball Mona LIsa Gessoed panels and decided to give it a try. I am very happy with these plates. They are the perfect size for my work and the plaster surface has enough jags to hold my paper tape but is smooth enough for me to easily peel the tape off! I plan on buying a few more of these sheets
