9 " Ranger with standard drive shaft

Perfect fit! I installed the rear of a Ford 9" in my Ranger and this U-joint saved my sore driveshaft! Must order 1 more as a replacement .

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Low maintenance

Best fit for Wrangler in universal joints

Quality component. I used this to install a Rugged Ridge CV (1310) driveshaft on my 94 Wrangler D35 (1330). I thought my local auto shop stocked a combination cross but they didn't (tried 3 local shops). You can also search Moog pn 295 if you need a similar part.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Fairly good

Fits and works well

I love the Spicer gimbals, they look and feel great and last a little longer than the others. I've changed them on many machines and never had a problem. I like them a lot more than the originals which I don't use anymore. I think I'm a Spicer. One thing they could do would be to align their numbering system with the sizing system instead of matching the product number to the universal joint number.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Requires socket

Fixed bug with cardan shaft.

When I ordered a driveshaft for my Jeep YJ, I ordered 1310 type U-joints. The shop fitted them with a 1310 fork just like I ordered. When it arrived I found that the rear fork on the diff was longer 1330 style. I was furious as I had just dropped a serious coin on that shaft. Luckily this saved my ass after a quick search and a call to the store. Installs easily on a new shaft and connects directly to the differential with no problems.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Reliability

Another top quality product from Spicer

Spicer is high on my list for drivetrain component quality. Part 5-134X is a 1330 to 1310 transition sleeve and is sized to fit the application. I installed this on a custom car with a GM driveshaft and a Ford 9" rear axle. The gimbal fits perfectly and handles operating errors without complaining. Every time I change gimbals I always use Spicer products and it's like others I've used - perfect.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Everything is fine

Adapter U-Joint for Humvee / HMMWV / M998

This U-joint is an excellent solution to eliminate early and subsequent misfits of the HMMWV drive shaft to the flange. The problem we had was that the later drive shaft (which uses Spicer 5-213X) did not match the axle input flange (which uses Dana Spicer 1-0153 [per TM9-2320-280-24P]). This is the right gimbal for that discrepancy. In addition, this gimbal is used on many Ford factory installations, so you don't have to worry about the joint failing. Bottom line: If you're using later…

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not the best option
