This is a nostalgic toy. My brothers and sisters and I bought them with candy over fifty years ago! The fish were in paper folders back then and these new ones are in plastic sleeves, but the graphics are the same as I remember them. The fish themselves appear to be made of cellophane, just like the old ones. They are for entertainment purposes only and are good for a trip down memory lane if you played with them as a kid. I'm not sure today's youth would be impressed by that.

Exactly what I wanted. As a seller, I often give away these fortune teller fish along with my card. You have no idea how effective they have been at keeping me in the spotlight. Small gift, big effect. I've been giving away these new items for twenty years and have had trouble finding them for the last few years. So imagine my delight when I found them on Amazon! Same quality and packaging as I've experienced before. And that's an amazing value too.

I've had a passion for oracles since I was a little kid. These fish might have been my first! They are almost as I remembered them, except that the divination keys are all romance oriented. From what I remember, when I was younger they had a more general meaning for different curls etc. I wish I could find a non-romantic key! However, they are very funny! Even if you don't like oracles, the way fish curl up is fun and interesting. We'll be adding them to Halloween sets this October!

I use them to teach science students how to design experiments and they just LOVE them, they are very good for teaching and my students (younger and older!) are really interested in finding out how these work things move. I think kids of all ages will enjoy playing around with them. With this large batch I got a few fish that didn't respond as well as usual, but that could also be because my students were mishandling them. Can't beat this price!

I had one as a kid and liked it but something is wrong with it. Each of them immediately curls up and stays that way. You should be able to place it on a flat surface to flatten it again (to reset it for the next "state"), but they never align. And of course, since they're curled up, each state comes out as "passionate". I put one back up my sleeve and put the book on it at night. The next morning as soon as I pulled it out, it twisted tight again. So now I have about 134 more fish just in case

I ordered these as a present for my daughter's birthday! It was a "hit", the kids loved it. I had the same one growing up and I loved it too! I was nostalgic to hold and play with it again. When my daughter was younger, we bought her at a gift shop and she wanted to do a science experiment with her. She tested other types of cellophane as well as variations in hand temperature. It was actually a smart and fun science experiment for her! When I found them in bulk I saw how much I had overpaid…

I love it as a fun way to look at scientific methods and independent/dependent/control variables. Give 4th-12th (even college) students a real problem to solve just like a scientist would. Only one factor elicits a response, so students need to be reminded to test only one variable at a time. (e.g. an ice cube checks temperature and humidity at the same time). Reaction.)
