I live in Texas and took up running toward the end of last spring. Last summer, the runs weren't long enough to need anything like this. Through the coldest part of the winter, I survived runs up to 12 miles by carrying a water bottle. But I never like having to carry something the whole time. Plus, I prefer to carry my phone, drivers license, and a debit card just in case. Some of the hydration vests and backpacks were pretty expensive. I really didn't want to pay a lot for this.
