Hardly gets the job done.

At first the extension tubes kept falling off and then the outlet tube wouldn't stay in place as there were no barbs holding the tube to the pump. I put in low viscosity gear oil but it kept coming out.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

The quality of this pump is almost the same as what you will find.

Despite reviews to the contrary, the quality of this pump is almost the same as any auto parts store and overall it looks flimsy and "sloppy". What really pissed me off was the exhaust pipe kept coming off and splattering gear oil everywhere.

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • Minor issues

Cheap product made in communist China.

The hose had a permanent kink right after unpacking. There are no clamps on either end of the hose. So it doesn't take a scientist to figure out if there's a limit to pumping oil through a cheap, flimsy hose, it's going to break. My Amsoil will be everywhere except where I want it in the transmission. I've seen $1 toys made of higher quality.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Without machine

Worked with reservations

Worked - difficult to pump in tight spaces but to be expected from any pump. The only problem is that the hard plastic tubing that comes with it (that goes into the liquid you're pumping) isn't long enough for larger bottles, so I have to go with a longer piece of tubing. If you're just using this for a liter bottle it will work, but if you're using this for a gallon bottle the plastic tubing isn't long enough.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No power

Suitable for Amsoil wide-mouth liter bottles

Ideal for Amsoil liter gear oil bottles. Inflates faster than a regular hand pump, but that's probably because it's rated for a gallon jug. I recommend making sure the plastic tube is securely attached to the spout (or using a clamp). Mine came off once when I was changing the fluid in the 6 liter differential case. All good, because 75W-110 tastes good and is good for the skin ;).

Pros
  • Have a good time
Cons
  • Almost never

Helps with clutter

Let's face it, changing or topping up gear oil in a manual or other transmission is no easy task, but life just got a little easier with this fairly inexpensive little pump. Simply screw the pump directly onto the gear oil of your choice and start pumping. Not only can you fill your gearboxes with the lubricant of your choice, but you can also save a lot of money by doing it yourself. The local lubricators where I live charge about $10 a liter for a transmission oil change, and that's for a…
