This sharpener did not produce sharp points when I tested it on my colored pencils. It was also difficult to handle due to its small size and felt flimsy. It may be suitable for quick, on-the-go sharpening needs, but not for serious arts and crafts work.

I bought this item thinking that this item is made in Germany because it is German but to my great disappointment this gift is made in China. Such a shame! When I buy a Staedtler, I expect it to come from Germany and not out of thin air.

I like the storage space for the chips and the fact that the chips are unlikely to leak once they are in the book bag. However, the lifespan of this sharpener is rather short. I like the results I get much better with a Kum longitudinal sharpener or one of the old Berol wall sharpeners from the 80's. This sharpener also broke the lead when I tried to sharpen my pencil, which Koum never happened to as far as I can remember.
