Terrible strong smell

Upon opening the packaging there was a very strong smell of the green plastic covering the wing handles. no washing or soaking will destroy it. Made in China. To return!

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Not all suitable

Cheap junk for a fee.

Not stainless steel or stainless steel, as described incorrectly. Critical parts are made from cheap zinc and broke 60 days ago, and to add insult to injury, they don't work as easily as the cheapest you can find.

Pros
  • understandable for the old
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

great value for money

I still gave the opener 5 stars because after some bad experiences I figured out how to use it properly. I have to hold the ring properly and I have to turn it 3/4 and then close the levers and start again to take the cork out. Otherwise, if I twist it to the maximum, I will NOT be able to press it to take it out of the cork without breaking the cork. It's a real cork, not plastic, and that might be why I had to adjust the distance

The corkscrew could have been better designed

The corkscrew looks more like a drill or a drill than a traditional corkscrew. The tip is straighter than the curved tip of a traditional corkscrew. It was a bit difficult for me to get the propeller to work. When it started there were pieces of cork around the neck of the bottle and on the counter. Not a few beats, but many. Some were to blame. This corkscrew is reasonably priced and looks and feels good. With a modified screw it would be great.

Pros
  • High marks from testers for grip and durability
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Very poor quality - I doubt it's real stainless steel

Mine broke in the same spot as the picture posted under Erin's (1 star) review on 10th July 2020 became. It seems that "stainless steel" is very bad. Quality, even if it's stainless steel. It seems to be a very cheap metal. where there is a break, everything is grainy - not like stainless steel. Probably false advertising! I also complain, like some of the other reviewers, that the tip is blunt and doesn't fit directly into the cork, meaning the plastic insert that rests on the rim of theโ€ฆ

Major design flaw

This opener has a major design flaw. The plastic insert in the corkscrew head, which is intended to center the corkscrew head over the wine bottle opening/cork, is too small in diameter and fits too tightly in the wine bottle opening. As a result, the plastic insert catches on the neck of the bottle and slides directly out of the opener head with each use. I then have to detach the plastic insert from the top of the bottle and put it back into the head of the corkscrew, but of course it popsโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • Without automatic controls

THIS IS NOT MADE OF STAINLESS STEEL

The bottle opener has been used about 2 dozen times and the bottle opener was bent making the wine opener difficult to use. Tried to gently straighten the bottle opener but it broke in half. Very disappointing. It says it's stainless steel, which isn't true. THIS IS POOR QUALITY "POT METAL", NOT STAINLESS STEEL. It's easy to tell real stainless steel from a pan. Real stainless steel will bend and just fall into pieces. You can also see how porous the metal inside is. If it were ordinary steel I

If you drink wine with a cork, buy this

I love corked wines and had a trusty old jackknife style corkscrew/bottle opener that required some force to open the cork, but I used it for so long I never thought of replacing it. Well that has changed recently as many wines now come with a synthetic cork that seems to stick to the neck of the bottle and defies my efforts to remove it easily without using my knees as a vise to cap the bottle keep. . For less than $8 I solved this problem. Now I can remove the cork in less than 5 secondsโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Bar & Wine Tools
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Bought for shop

Update: I had to downgrade this to 2 stars. The corkscrew broke at the event. I opened a couple of bottles, as usual, and the screw part detached from the rest of the mechanism, leaving it in the wine bottle. I've been through a lot with this little corkscrew in my short life and it might be fine for normal home use, but if you're planning on opening a few bottles for a party or using it for business then keep looking. Bought it for special occasions. I open 5-10 bottles of wine a night so Iโ€ฆ
