My problem solved! in spare parts

My problem with my car was solved without any problems. Due to a bad sensor I had before, the idle was a bit high, enough to increase fuel economy to annoying levels. Price was also a factor when ordering a product.

Pros
  • Solid workmanship
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Fixed problem with my car

Fits my 2001 PT Cruiser. Driven 150 km after replacement, works perfectly. The P0551 code was cleared and never came back. No leaks. UPDATE: 2 months later and it's leaking. There is no test motor yet, but it needs to be replaced. He gets 2 stars.

  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Recommend the manufacturer to improve quality control

Switch failed after 13 months: Power steering fluid started leaking from the switch resulting in loss of steering control and possible damage to steering components. The switch, originally 15 years old, was slowly leaking and triggering an engine check code to warn of seal failure. I recommend the manufacturer to improve quality control.

Pros
  • Easy tuning
Cons
  • Some minor issues

The price was good and it was a perfect fit

This is the correct power steering push button switch for the PT Cruiser and presumably many other Chrysler products. The price was good and it was a perfect fit. Be careful when installing. A large wrench is required for installation, and tiny solid steel threads are screwed into the aluminum. Tighten just enough to compress the o-ring, being careful not to put sideways pressure on the plastic head during installation.

Failed within an hour of use

I bought two parts for my 2008 PT Cruiser. One was this pressure sensor and the other was the power steering pump. The pump failed after an hour of use, as did this part - the seal burst. I spent double what I wanted to work to install both parts twice. According to my mechanic, the lesson to be learned is not to buy Revain auto parts. You see a flood of cheap parts from China that are cheap and don't last long.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

The part was defective, didn't even fit the new rack

I recently changed the rack. The new part had a broken sensor. So I bought a new one just in case. As I pumped the power steering, the sensor popped out and with it the fluid. Luckily I had a palette and some rags handy. I placed the sensor in an old rack and found that it doesn't make reliable contact here. To solve this problem, I sprayed electrical contact cleaner on the old sensor and installed it in the new rack. So far, so good.

Poor quality: switches and relays

Bought a switch for my 02 neon after the engine light came on and coded P0551. Went to my mechanic and installed it in about 15 minutes with no problems (it's pretty easy). I started the car, the lights went out, everything worked, I pulled out of the garage. As soon as the wheels were spun, the PS fluid began to flow out. The mechanic was completely taken aback by what the hell had happened. The switch flew right out of the PS rack. After removing the newly installed switch and using a…
