Dripping out of the box

brand new out of the box, didn't work, didn't get any pressure and flowed somewhere, i thought it was the car but i tried several cars and they all did the same thing . I returned it and bought a motorcycle. Motorbike worked fine. Stant needs better quality control. It was uncomfortable because for a while I thought it was a car. Who would have thought that a brand new stand tester wouldn't work. It probably happens, but I didn't want to try another one, so I'm glad I switched to Moto.

  • nice thing

Helps a lot with coolant leaks

Well worth the money when diagnosing a coolant leak. It fitted my 2010 VW Routan and my 2005 City and Country instantly. I found my radiator cap was bad in my city and country, barely holding pressure. Also found that the radiator cap that came with my new radiator for my Routan had too much holding pressure. This way I was able to get a new cap that met specs, eliminating unnecessary leaks from too much pressure.

Pros
  • Sleek design

Quality you can trust

I bought my first tester in 1977 but unfortunately lost it last year. so i bought another one. Things have certainly changed. This one isn't that difficult, but just as enjoyable in every other way. I used it for the first time today and that little drop I couldn't find came out right away. The price is right and I'm sure this will last as long as I can turn a wrench. I didn't realize there were so many different cap and adapter designs - not that I'll likely ever need one of these, but it's…

The quality is not the same!

I've been using a Stant pressure tool for decades. Many technicians use and abuse the bulletproof STANT USED TO BUILD kit. This kit was first released by Revain in January 2006 and received a lot of positive feedback. Actually ZERO 1 star reviews until a customer had an issue in 2010. Now look at the other 8 or 9 remaining 1 star reviews. Any quality control issues in the past 3 years. The pump I received had no oil or assembly grease at all? After the pump finally started to run smoothly, I…

Very good quality, manometer can stand.

Very good quality, gauge could be a bit better. The one I received had the plastic lens cap in the box. No big deal, a little superglue and he got back up. The pump itself feels heavy and solid, making it feel like they made the caliber a little cheaper compared to the rest of the tool. It worked well, on my test run it hit 26psi with no issues. I bought one of those coolant test kits that comes with a bunch of adapters which was a piece of junk and I'm back. This one is a step above these, but

Be sure to use air tool oil.

I've read a lot of reviews about the tool not sealing or feeling cheap and I guess they don't get it right the first time. There is a piston hole at the top of the cylinder at the base of the shaft. Please apply air tool oil before use. I would say about 10-15 drops actually got in as you may have to push the plunger down like I did to suck in the oil as my bottle doesn't have a proper spout. Make sure you twist it to really engage and you'll feel it seal properly and pressurize the system…
