File corruption (confirmed by binary comparison)

The card and drivers are pretty easy to install. When testing the transfer speed through the PCIe x1 slot, I saw 92MB/s. However, files transferred using this USB stick failed the basic test. The card and/or driver could not create exact 1:1 scale copies. Files transferred/copied through the card always had file corruption issues. This was verified by comparing the binaries to the original and copied file. Maybe the problem is in the driver, maybe in the hardware, maybe in both. I am running…

Works good easy to install

I had to add some USB 3 ports to my device as it only has USB 2. This card has 4 ports and good reviews so I decided to give it a try. The card came with a printed manual and an installation CD with drivers. StarTech seems to be a notch above similar products, so worth a few bucks more in my opinion. This card installs easily on a 64-bit Windows 7 computer along with a software driver. I didn't have any issues with the case interfering with the USB 3 ports as mentioned by some other reviewers…

Many ports in a small space

This applies to the version with 4 external ports. This was added to a small server running Server 2012R2. The Renesas chipset drivers were already included in the operating system, so it was a true plug-and-play experience. Added for fast data transfer to external backup drives, this card didn't disappoint. It was one of the few solutions that housed four parts on a low-profile board. Some applications that use dongles or flash drives may have trouble with tight port spacing, but my various…

Fixed my compatibility issue!

I have a StarTech USB3 capture card that is not working with my motherboard's onboard USB3 controller and the troubleshooting guide recommended this card. Now it works great! A little pricey compared to some other USB3 controllers, but as long as my capture card works I'm happy with it. Please note that you must be precise when screwing as the USB ports are perpendicular to the expansion slot. card into the slot. If you line it up and plug in the USB connectors on both ends before screwing the…

Works great with I/O cards

I've only had this a couple of weeks but everything is working fine so far. , I have the same problem. The problem, however, was that all adapters and slot blocks had to be precisely aligned. Only the single latch for all adapters (this is the HP Z420 tool-less case) had to be removed and properly aligned. Then the card would fit properly in the slot with no problems with connecting cables. What would I do differently if I were designing a card (of course it could be more expensive): 1. For a 4

My Oculus Rift S issues have been fixed!

After many errors with my VR headset I found ways to fix the problem online. I have a very powerful PC and motherboard, but it doesn't matter. USB power is low when multiple peripherals are connected. I bought an Inateck 4 slot PCI-e card after reading the Oculus troubleshooting guide. This junk didn't work either. After reading reviews about this beauty, I took a chance. When I say it was a miracle, you understand. I installed the card with a SATA extension cable and turned on the computer. I…
