I wanted something simple to extend the life of some old monitors instead of buying new ones for my home servers. While motherboards still have VGA outputs, a server has a graphics card that doesn't (this disables the onboard graphics). Simple and convenient, although it does not fix the cable attached to it with cable screws. I give it 5 stars for its simplicity and performance despite this small issue.

I was about to give this adapter a bad review but realized it was my fault. After connecting in the right direction, everything worked. I connected my laptop (HDMI out) to a spare TV (VGA/HDMI in) and the signal was received. What I see on the laptop is what I see on the TV. The color saturation on the TV is a bit off, but it's a TV. The adapter gets a little warm during use. This adapter cannot be used if the display does not have a VGA connector (some newer displays).

This product is perfect for connecting my old VGA monitor to my new laptop. This adapter is small so it fits easily in my laptop bag. It's small so it doesn't take up too much space on my desk. Other products were two plugs with a short cord between them. This made them bigger and more voluminous. The cable seemed to me to be another reason for the glitch. The price of this product was significantly lower than that of the competition.
