Absolutely incredible roast chicken!

This chic little roaster cooks the most delicious chicken! Nice, crispy skin all over! It catches every drop of drip so you can make delicious sauces! Worth every penny!

Pros

Cons
  • No Auto Cook

It's a great addition to my extensive collection of high-end pots.

Only used for chicken. Cleans well. It is best to use only with chicken and not with vegetables on the baking sheet. I've tried both, but overcooked veggies like onions made peeling difficult.

  • Quality construction

  • Can I add something?

Nice piece, makes great fried chicken.

I preheat the grill in the oven and simply stuff the chicken with pierced lemon, S&P, a bunch of herbs, maybe garlic. I want to think while I cook.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Infinitely lazy

Beautifully made fantastic chicken roaster

I've used it twice and it cooked perfectly juicy chicken with crispy golden brown skin. The skillet allows the chicken juice to drip onto any veggies you place on the baking sheet, adding great flavor. It's a good looking product with typical Staub quality.

  • Sturdy construction

but overall a fantastic vertical roaster

wish it was a little wider but overall a fantastic vertical roaster. Holds 5-6 lb chicks fairly well (sometimes you have to tie your legs with twine). A slight bend in the vertical column will help. Typically, cauliflower and shallots are cooked in juices around the base. Fits easily in an outdoor grill. Easy to clean (I spray with cooking spray before use).

Let the chicken come to room temperature first

Very expensive - bought this when I needed a visa and gave Revain credit. The most important thing is to let the chicken come to room temperature before roasting, otherwise the chicken innards will not cook properly. If you don't want part of the neck and wings to drown in the chicken liquid and fat (leaving the skin saggy instead of crispy), take this thing out and drain those liquids as they build up. I wish Staub would sell a grill to match this roaster so the liquid can collect without…

Another nice addition Dust

Very pretty, easy to clean (actually). Another great Staub product that produces VERY juicy chicken. It came out of the oven crispy, but when it rested 5+ minutes the skin was soft with the juiciness of the chicken. The only 2 cons is that it's quite small, I couldn't fit enough potatoes for 2 with the chicken. The other downside is the browning, only the top half of the chicken is browned when it's done. I end up turning the chicken 3/4 while cooking, but it's tedious trying to maneuver the…

So worth the price for healthier and tastier food!

Good is expensive. However, if you love really good fresh baked chicken, it's that easy! First of all if you like chicken in salads or in soups/stews/chili/casseroles. Don't waste your money on store-bought grilled chicken because you're likely to get chicken with all kinds of bad and bad for you. With this roaster you control the quality, size of the chickens, etc. We buy Costco organic whole chickens in packs of 2; Each weighs about 3.5 pounds and is perfect for a small family dinner or for a
