Not scientific quality, but cheaper.

I wanted to pack a set of calipers in my bag that didn't need a case. I know people who can see like they have invisible calipers in their hands. I try to screw up with nuts and bolts too much for my liking though, so I try to keep some basic calipers on me at all times. This is a prime example of how digital technology is no better than old school. I have digital calipers. Batteries are dead when I want to use them. With them, I no longer have to worry about dead batteries. This works 100% of the time at any temperature after not using it for weeks, months or years. I can throw them on the floor. I can probably run them over with my car and they will still work. I bet that will be passed down from generation to generation to my kids and their kids. It just…

DO NOT BUY. NOT EVEN RIGHT.

Do not buy for the following reasons: 1- Notches or marks were made by hand. The gaps between the notch and the next notch are not compatible. A caliper is meant to be an accurate measuring tool, and the number one reason someone would look for a non-electronic caliper is so it doesn't need to be calibrated from time to time. This one is wrong. Also, the marks aren't even straight and perpendicular to the edge. See photo for details. 2- Too much sliding friction. The manufacturer tried to cheat
