Description of Steelman 1/2-Inch Drive 100 ft-lb Impact 🔧 Wrench Torque Extension, 8-inch Length, Gray, Corrosion-Resistant Powder-Coated Steel

Prevents over-tightening - over-tightening can lead to premature failure of wheels, wheel studs, and rotors. Flexes to limit torque - when 100 ft-lb of torque is reached the extension will flex to absorb impact and stop tightening. 1/2-inch drive - both male and female ends are 1/2-inch drive for use with heavy-duty impact wrenches and sockets. Calibration free - predetermined maximum allowed torque, no moving parts, maintenance and recalibration free. Powder-coated - steel powder-coated gray for corrosion resistance and to differentiate from other extensions.

Works well - hand tool

Ideal for the first step in tightening the wheels. I spin my wheels to 85 ft-lbs and use that 65 ft-lbs of torque with a cordless impact gun to drive in wheel bolts when changing wheels. This speeds up wheel changes significantly and requires minimal effort to reach and reach 85 ft-lbs with a torque wrench.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small house
Cons
  • Capacity

High Quality Torque Bars

These are used with a snap closure and are normally lightly torqued to specification. This is great because I always end up with manual torque to spec. I usually choose one stick under the next to avoid the possibility of excessive torque. I don't hammer them permanently and expect them to last a long time.

Pros
  • Best in the Industry
Cons
  • Crumpled Packing

It definitely works and pretty darn close to 100 ftlbs.

I use this to tighten jam nuts with an impact wrench before applying final torque with a torque wrench. Its operation can be clearly seen and heard with my torque wrench, and every time it gets very, very close to specs, only the slightest extra torque is applied with my torque wrench. Works as expected although all final torque values should always be set with a torque wrench.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Seems to work most of the time?

My machine's end torque is 96 ft-lbs so this is the closest I've found without going overboard. I'd say that so far with a 1/2" milwaukee fuel hit to drive, I can usually finally finally tighten the eyelet on each nut with my torque wrench. It seems the nut didn't move any further a couple of times, so I'm wondering. There seems to be some technique involved in using these things, at least to me. If they were perfect, surely someone would sell a 95 or 96 ft-lb version.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Excellent way of not over tightening nuts with an impact wrench

The extension actually stops turning after the torque target on the handle has been reached so you only have to turn the nut when it stops turning emotional. I've used this in combination with an electric and air gun to tighten lug nuts before falling behind with my torque wrench. I was still able to turn the nuts with a torque wrench so the value printed on the rod seemed correct. But only to put on, not to lose weight!

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Easy to repair

Works as advertised

Tested with an impact wrench and the torque limiter stops within 2 pounds of advertised torque. After stopping, the torque was measured with a torque wrench. This must be used with an impact wrench. This extension twists upon impact and the degree of twist increases as torque increases. At the end, the extension cord twists so much that the outlet doesn't move. This is a simple explanation of how it works. Note that this torque limiter will not work with a regular socket wrench as the force…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Appearance

Works great, I use it all the time. EDIT: NOT WORKING

I bought this so I wouldn't overload the wheels with my impact and not have to manually tighten the wheels with a torque wrench. It works great and stops the gun accurately at 80 ft-lbs of torque. I highly recommend it! EDIT: I didn't tighten my wheels to 80 ft-lbs. After that, when I was driving at about 35 km/h, I heard a constant clicking sound and stopped. I found all the lug nuts were hand tight and I could remove them by hand! I'm sure I didn't make a mistake using the tool. I gave him…

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Long delivery time
