Tool worked well for engine parts

This tool worked on Tecumseh 4hp with some credibility. Not as easy as I expected, but without them getting the valve springs back would be almost impossible. I would buy it again to avoid getting frustrated trying to install them without it.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Commercial Availability

Quality tool best for valves and parts

Haven't had a chance to use it yet. It took too long to get it so I did the valve work with another tool. This tool looks well built and may be the only tool that's good for those hard-to-reach places where other tools are useless. I have a tool in the box if you need it.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Quality

Should have bought her a long time ago

This is Katherine's husband. Having one of these tools will save you the headache and hassle of removing and reinstalling valve springs on a small engine. Of course, without this tool, you can uninstall them much more easily than reinstall them, but once you use it, you too will regret not having bought it like I did. oooooooooooo cute! Dan

Pros
  • dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • boring packaging

Perfect for small engines

I should have had this tool a long time ago. Working on small engines with very tight access to the valve springs. This tool is ideal for removing and installing springs. The tool held the springs securely and fully compressed them, allowing the retainers and clamps to be installed with needle nose pliers. My only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

I've only used it once so far, but the tool seems to be it.

Only used once so far but the tool seems solid and I'm sure it will last. I used it to pull the valves out of a Kohler K181 and it worked fine. Remember that you need to know what type of engine you have. This tool is designed to remove valve springs from flathead engines. OHV engines require a different tool. If there are any durability issues I will update.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Minor issues

Didn't fit what I wanted but I think it works great for its intended purpose

The spring compressor is well made, strong and I think it will fit my purpose perfectly real purpose. I tried using it to compress a spring in the emergency braking system of a car's rear disc brake. The spring used was too compressed for me to insert the levers into the spring for further compression so I could straighten the misaligned cable. I keep the tool because I have no doubt that it will come in handy one day in the future.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • You could have chosen a newer model

The tool cannot be used even upon arrival!

I would give this tool 5* if it didn't break. I have a burned out engine on my desk waiting to be removed for springs and valves, all I needed was this tool. I received it and was ready to get to work. As you can see one of the legs is welded to the back and I can't grab the springs and hold them down enough to release the latches. Very frustrating for a $32 tool. Even in desperation, I have used these compression tools in the past and prefer them to other types of spring compressors. I just…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Will write later
