I only had three days and it was only on the third filter that the threaded rod broke in the middle when I screwed on the base without even turning it tight.

I have no doubts about the quality of this built-in filter. However, I haven't used it yet as the Zero Water Filter works better.

It might filter well, but I'll never know. The force required to tighten the bottom cover is only slightly less than the force required to break the spindle. The spindle broke the first time I used it. Now I have to try and find a filter housing that uses cartridges because I bought a couple of those too.

Worked great for about 50 gallons changing cartridges along the way. The rating would have been five stars, except that the middle bridge broke off when carefully putting it on. I was wary because others have reported that it breaks off if it's "too tight". I didn't and it broke anyway. Manufacturer: Please use a stronger plastic and make it without a hollow core.

Works like a charm. Placed at the condenser outlet of my burner for a much cleaner product. Uses standard 3/8 inch. pipe size. Simply soak the charcoal filter element in water until all air bubbles have stopped and all charcoal dust has been washed away. No charcoal mess or taste. One filter is enough for one run or about 5 gallons. Worth the money for those looking for the best product. I tried deleting the first filter I used to reuse but couldn't remove the previous flavors.
